Colombia’s Cordillera Fest 2025 Shatters Records with Over 82,000 Attendees, Solidifying Its Latin American Music Stature

Bogotá, Colombia – The vibrant sounds of Latin America echoed through Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park this past weekend as the Cordillera Fest 2025 drew an impressive crowd of over 82,000 attendees. This fourth edition of the young festival, held on September 13 and 14, has firmly cemented its status as one of the continent’s premier music gatherings, celebrating the diverse tapestry of Latin culture through an eclectic lineup and significant economic impact on the Colombian capital.

A Record-Breaking Music Spectacle

The 2025 Cordillera Fest not only met but exceeded expectations, attracting a record-breaking number of music lovers. With an estimated 42,000 people attending on the first day alone, the festival continued its upward trajectory since its inception in 2021. Organizers reported an overall attendance of more than 82,000 across the two days, reaffirming its position as a must-attend event for fans of Latin music.

A Diverse Lineup Championing Latin Rhythms

This year’s festival featured a star-studded lineup that spanned genres and generations, showcasing the richness and breadth of Latin American music. Headlining acts included salsa legend Rubén Blades with his Roberto Delgado Big Band, Vallenato icon Carlos Vives, Argentine rockstar Fito Páez, and pop sensation Miguel Bosé. The festival also welcomed international acclaimed artists such as UB40 feat. Ali Campbell, Paulo Londra, Gipsy Kings by André Reyes, and the Mexican group Zoé. The extensive roster ensured a comprehensive musical journey, from rock and pop to salsa, vallenato, and afrolatin beats, truly embodying the festival’s mission to celebrate all expressions of Latin culture.

Economic Powerhouse for Bogotá

Beyond its musical offerings, the Cordillera Fest has become a significant economic engine for Bogotá. Organizers estimate the festival generated revenues exceeding 75 billion pesos (approximately US$18.7 million) for the Colombian capital, marking a notable 25.9% increase compared to the 2024 edition. This influx of funds highlights the event’s role in boosting sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, and local commerce. The festival is projected to attract around 38,400 tourists, both national and international, who contribute substantially to the city’s economy. Pilar Torres Alvarado, subdirector of Strategic Studies at the Secretariat of Economic Development, commented that events like Cordillera Fest demonstrate that culture is a powerful driver of economic development, attracting visitors and creating employment.

Pioneering Sustainability in Live Events

The Cordillera Fest continues to distinguish itself through a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, aiming to be a benchmark for massive events in the region. With a robust operational framework involving over 700 individuals dedicated to recycling and ecological practices, the festival strives for zero waste. Strategic alliances with organizations like Páramo Impacta, Clean Energy, and The Community Forests are enhancing these efforts, with the goal of offsetting the festival’s carbon footprint and moving towards carbon neutrality. This focus on sustainability is not just an operational detail but a core tenet of the festival’s identity, demonstrating how large-scale entertainment can align with environmental responsibility.

A Legacy of Latin American Celebration

Since its inception in 2021, the Cordillera Fest, an initiative by Páramo Presenta, has evolved into a vital platform for showcasing and celebrating Latin American music. By bringing together a diverse array of artists and a massive audience, the festival not only provides an unforgettable musical experience but also strengthens Bogotá’s position as a vibrant cultural hub on the international stage. The success of the 2025 edition underscores its growing importance and promises an even brighter future for this significant latin music festival.
