Panama City, Panama – September 25, 2025 – The vibrant sounds of Latin music filled the air as the 2025 Premios Juventud celebrated its 22nd edition, marking a historic first by being held outside the United States in Panama City. The fan-voted awards show, themed “Evolucionando al ritmo de la música” (Evolving to the rhythm of music), saw Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny and Colombian pop-rock band Morat emerge as the night’s biggest winners, each taking home three prestigious awards.

Bad Bunny and Morat Lead the Pack

Bad Bunny’s dominance in the urban music scene was undeniable, earning him three trophies, including Best Urban Track for “DTMF,” Best Urban Mix for “Adivino,” and Best Urban Album for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos”. Morat also celebrated a highly successful night, securing Favorite Group or Duo of the Year, Best Pop/Rock Song for “Me Toca a Mí,” and Best Pop Album for “Ya Es Mañana”. Their respective wins underscore their significant impact on the contemporary Latin music landscape.

Karol G Crowned Artist of the Year, Other Major Wins

Colombian sensation Karol G was recognized with the coveted Artist of the Year award, further solidifying her status as a leading figure in global music. She also secured Tropical Hit of the Year for her popular track “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido”. Representing the rich sounds of Mexican music, Carín León garnered awards for Best Mexican Music Song (“El Amor de Mi Herida”) and Best Mexican Music Album (“Boca Chueca, Vol.1”). Venezuelan artist Danny Ocean, who, along with Bad Bunny, led the nominations with six nods each, took home the award for Afrobeat Latino del Año for his song “Amor”.

A Historic Night in Panama

The 2025 Premios Juventud marked a significant moment by relocating its prestigious ceremony to Panama City, emphasizing TelevisaUnivision’s commitment to celebrating Latin American communities. This move underscored the global reach and influence of Latin music and culture. The event celebrated fan favorites across 41 categories, spanning music, television, streaming, and social media, with a notable introduction of eight new categories designed to reflect evolving youth interests and digital trends.

Special Honors and Memorable Moments

Beyond the competitive categories, the night also recognized influential figures who are making a positive impact. Carlos Vives and Myke Towers were honored with the prestigious “Agent of Change” award for their philanthropic efforts and commitment to social causes. The ceremony featured a dazzling array of performances from top artists, including a special tribute to Panama’s musical heritage. A particularly heartwarming moment came when Dominican artist Natti Natasha used the gala to reveal she is expecting her second child, a baby girl.

Celebrating the Future of Latin Music

The 2025 Premios Juventud once again proved to be a powerhouse event, highlighting the dynamism and diversity of the Latin music industry. With major wins for established stars like Bad Bunny and Morat, and the continued rise of artists like Karol G and Carín León, the awards show celebrated both current successes and the promising future of Latin entertainment. The successful transition to Panama City set a new precedent, promising continued global recognition for the vibrant Latin music scene.
