Shure Audio Technology Powers the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards with Unprecedented Sound Fidelity

The 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, held at the James L. Knight Center in Miami and broadcast live on Telemundo, celebrated the pinnacle of Latin music with groundbreaking performances and advanced audio solutions. Shure, a long-standing partner in delivering high-quality sound for over two decades, once again played a pivotal role in ensuring a flawless auditory experience for both live attendees and at-home viewers, showcasing the impressive capabilities of Shure Audio Technology. This year’s ceremony highlighted the introduction of Shure’s new DCA901 Broadcast Mic Arrays, marking a significant advancement in audience capture technology and further cementing the importance of Shure’s audio solutions for Latin music events.

Shure Audio Technology: A New Era in Audience Sound Capture

For the first time at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, two Shure DCA901 microphones were strategically deployed to capture the audience’s energy and applause. These innovative arrays, featuring eight steerable lobes, were instrumental in creating an immersive sound environment, adding “remarkable depth and dimension” to the overall mix, a testament to advanced Shure Audio Technology. JC Aguila, Network Audio Technical Manager at NBC Universal, praised the technology, stating, “Shure has been an invaluable part of our broadcasts, consistently providing cutting-edge audio technology that elevates our sound quality and enhances the viewer experience”. He further noted that the DCA901 units, alongside 24 other audience microphones, successfully achieved the desired immersive soundscape, highlighting the power of Shure’s broadcast audio technology. Broadcast mixer Anthony Portillo lauded the DCA901 as a “game changer,” highlighting its intuitive interface and agile deployment capabilities. The DCA901 represents a significant step forward in broadcast audio, offering engineers greater control and reducing the need for extensive microphone setups, a hallmark of Shure’s commitment to superior audio solutions, particularly within the realm of Shure Audio Technology.

Powering Performances with Premier Shure Audio Solutions

Beyond audience capture, Shure’s extensive range of audio solutions ensured that the artists’ performances resonated with crystal-clear precision. The event utilized 20 channels of Shure Axient Digital Wireless Systems and 16 channels of the Shure PSM 1000 in-ear monitoring System, provided by Frequency Coordination Group, underpinning the entire audio infrastructure for the night with reliable Shure Audio Technology. These systems are renowned for their reliability and superior signal quality, essential for high-stakes live event audio and a key component of Shure’s broadcast audio technology offerings.

Several top Latin music artists relied on Shure microphones for their performances. Laura Pausini captivated the audience with a striking black bling ADX2 microphone paired with a Nexadyne 8/S capsule, while Daddy Yankee delivered his signature energy using an AD2/K11N microphone equipped with a Push-To-Talk switch for enhanced control, showcasing the versatility of Shure audio solutions. Ozuna chose the esteemed KSM9HS capsule, ensuring impeccable vocal clarity, and Los Pleneros De La Cresta utilized SM39 headsets on ADX1 packs for their dynamic audience interaction. Diverse artists like Toño Rosario, Elvis Crespo, La Insuperable, and Ebenezer Guerra also showcased their talent with various Shure microphone capsules, including Nexadyne 8/S and KSM9, tailored to their unique styles, demonstrating the breadth of Shure’s audio technology. Even rising stars and established acts like Musza, Beéle, and Juan Duque trusted Shure’s Beta 58A and other models for their powerful sets, further emphasizing the widespread adoption of Shure audio solutions in Latin music events.

A Legacy of Excellence in Latin Music Events with Shure Audio Technology

Shure’s relationship with the Billboard Latin Music Awards extends back over two decades, a testament to its consistent delivery of innovative and reliable Shure Audio Technology. NBC Universal’s trust in Shure underscores the company’s position as a leader in professional audio solutions for live broadcasts and major events, including prominent Latin music events. The seamless integration of Shure’s cutting-edge microphones and wireless systems not only elevates the technical production but also enhances the overall viewer and attendee experience, making it a truly immersive celebration of Latin music, driven by superior Shure Audio Technology. As the industry continues to evolve, Shure remains at the forefront, providing the tools that allow artists and production teams to achieve top-tier sound quality and create memorable stories in the world of latin music, a testament to the enduring power of Shure Audio Technology.

The success of the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, marked by its incredible performances and superior audio, further solidifies Shure’s reputation as an indispensable partner in the live event and broadcast industries, particularly for prestigious Latin music events. The innovative use of the DCA901 microphone array, alongside its robust Axient Digital Wireless and PSM 1000 monitoring systems, exemplifies Shure’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of Shure Audio Technology and delivering an unparalleled sound experience for one of music’s biggest nights, reinforcing its role in broadcast audio technology.
