Juanes Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at Premio Lo Nuestro 2026; Global Tour Kicks Off

Elena MorenoElena MorenoFebruary 18, 2026 1513 Minutes read0

Latin music icon Juanes receives a major honor today, accepting the Juanes Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious ceremony, the Premio Lo Nuestro 2026, takes place February 19, 2026, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, celebrating the best in Latin music. Juanes is recognized for his incredible career, with his authenticity and evolution highlighted as he has connected generations through his music. The Juanes Lifetime Achievement recognition comes as Juanes also earned two nominations this year: Male Pop Artist of the Year and Pop/Rock Song of the Year for his song “Una Noche Contigo,” a single from his new album, further underscoring the significance of the Juanes Lifetime Achievement.

A Celebration of Latin Music Roots and the Juanes Lifetime Achievement

The Premio Lo Nuestro awards show is a major event. This year’s theme is “Honorando lo que Somos,” meaning “Honoring Who We Are.” The theme emphasizes Latin music’s strong connection to its roots and its power to unite people. The eligibility period for nominations spanned late 2024 to fall 2025. The ceremony covers 44 categories across pop, urbano, tropical, and Mexican music genres. Many artists received multiple nominations, with Bad Bunny, Carín León, Myke Towers, and Rauw Alejandro leading with 10 nods each. The show airs live on Univision, UNIMÁS, and Galavisión, and streams on ViX, all while celebrating achievements like the Juanes Lifetime Achievement.

Juanes’ Global Tour and the Juanes Lifetime Achievement

Juanes is not just being honored with the Juanes Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also launching his “Juanes World Tour 2026.” This global trek will feature over 50 dates, with the North American leg beginning September 3 in Orlando. The tour will visit major cities including Nashville, Boston, and Los Angeles. Juanes’ tour production is inspired by his new concept album, “JuanesTeban,” which explores themes of duality. This new music release is highly anticipated. Tickets for North American dates go on sale February 20, with Citi cardmembers getting early access on February 19. Juanes is celebrated as a top Latin rock/pop artist, having won multiple Grammys and Latin Grammys, and garnering 48 career nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro, a testament to his enduring impact leading up to his Juanes Lifetime Achievement.

Other Special Tributes and Performances

Premio Lo Nuestro is introducing five special awards this year, honoring iconic figures in Latin music. Besides Juanes’ Juanes Lifetime Achievement, Arcángel receives the Urban Icon Award, Los Bukis get the Musical Legacy Award, Manolo Díaz is honored with the Visionary Award, and Paloma San Basilio earns the Award for Excellence. The ceremony boasts an impressive lineup of performers, with many top artists taking the stage. Marc Anthony and Nathy Peluso will open the show. Hosts for the night include Thalia, Nadia Ferreira, and Clarissa Molina. More than 30 artists are set to perform. The event promises a spectacular night of music, highlighting the diversity and reach of Latin music today, with the Juanes Lifetime Achievement being a central highlight.

Mariachi Herencia de México Performs

In other Latin music news for February 19, 2026, Mariachi Herencia de México performs at the Indiana University Auditorium in Bloomington, Indiana. This ensemble, a two-time Latin Grammy-nominated band, represents a new generation of mariachi musicians, blending traditional styles with modern sounds. Their performance promises an electrifying night, showcasing rich Mexican music and culture. This event offers a different flavor of Latin music for the day, complementing the broader celebration of artists like Juanes, whose Juanes Lifetime Achievement is a major focus of the evening.
