Billboard Latin Music Awards 2025: Abraham Mateo and DY Set to Electrify Stage as Laura Pausini Receives Icon Award

Miami, FL – The highly anticipated 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards are set to illuminate Miami on October 23rd, promising an unforgettable night celebrating the vibrant landscape of Latin music. This year’s ceremony will feature a dynamic lineup of performers, headlined by the confirmed appearances of Spanish pop sensation Abraham Mateo and global reggaeton icon DY, who will be making a momentous return to the stage after a hiatus.

Adding to the star-studded affair, the legendary Italian singer Laura Pausini will be honored with the prestigious Billboard Icon Award for her enduring impact and decades-long career in the music industry. The awards, recognized as the longest-running and most prestigious in Latin music, will be broadcast live on Telemundo and streamed on Peacock, cementing their status as a pivotal event for news and aficionados alike.

A Stellar Lineup Takes Center Stage

The roster of performers announced for the October 23rd gala is a testament to the diverse talent shaping contemporary Latin music. Joining Abraham Mateo and DY are Angel Lopez, Arthur Hanlon, Grupo Frontera, and Kapo, who are slated to grace the stage with their performances. These artists are part of an extensive list that includes previously confirmed acts such as Beéle, Danny Ocean, Juan Duque, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, Musza, Netón Vega, NXNNI, Olga Tañón, Óscar Maydon, and Ozuna.

The appearance of DY, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, is particularly significant as he emerges from retirement for this special performance. Having concluded his farewell tour ‘La Última Vuelta’ in December 2023, DY’s return to the stage marks a new chapter, signifying his continued influence as an artist who brought reggaeton to global prominence. His presence at the awards underscores the enduring power of his music and his impact on generations of artists.

Abraham Mateo, a singer, songwriter, and producer who first captured attention as a child prodigy, has evolved into an international artist known for his fusion of Latin pop, urban, and R&B sounds. His inclusion in the performance lineup highlights his established career and his significant contributions to the Latin music scene.

Laura Pausini Honored with Billboard Icon Award

Laura Pausini, a global superstar with over 75 million records sold worldwide, will receive the Billboard Icon Award. This accolade celebrates artists who have maintained relevance over time, establishing themselves as distinguished figures in their genre through both musical and commercial success. Pausini, whose career spans over three decades, has achieved remarkable international recognition, becoming a global pop icon. Her recent achievements include a collaboration with Rauw Alejandro on “Se Fue” and being honored as “Person of the Year” by the Latin Recording Academy in 2023, making her the first Italian artist to receive this distinction. Pausini’s acceptance of the Icon Award acknowledges her profound and lasting influence on music and culture.

A Celebration of Latin Music’s Premier Event

The Billboard Latin Music Awards, established in 1994, are a cornerstone of the Latin music industry, recognizing the most popular artists, albums, and songs as determined by Billboard’s renowned charts. The ceremony serves as the grand finale to Billboard Latin Music Week, an influential gathering that brings together artists, industry leaders, and fans from October 20-24 in Miami. This week-long event features exclusive conversations, live showcases, workshops, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for the industry’s most significant conversations and announcements.

The 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, airing on Telemundo and streaming on Peacock, are poised to be a landmark event, showcasing the dynamism and global appeal of Latin music. With a lineup featuring both established legends and emerging stars, the night promises to deliver exceptional performances and celebrate the artists who continue to define the soundscape of Latin music worldwide.
