Bad Bunny Dominates 2025 Latin Grammy Nominations, Signaling Continued Global Reach of Latin Music

LAS VEGAS, NV – September 17, 2025 – Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny has once again asserted his commanding presence in the global music scene, leading the nominations for the 26th Annual Latin Grammy Awards with an impressive 12 nods. The nominations, announced today by the Latin Recording Academy, underscore Bad Bunny’s enduring impact and the ever-expanding influence of Latin music worldwide.

Bad Bunny’s extensive list of accolades includes nominations in the most prestigious categories: Album of the Year for his critically acclaimed “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” Record of the Year (for two tracks: “Baile Inolvidable” and “DTmF”), and Song of the Year (also for “Baile Inolvidable” and “DTmF”). These nominations add to an already illustrious career for the artist, bringing his total Latin Grammy nominations to 52. The announcement comes as Bad Bunny concludes his highly publicized 30-night residency in Puerto Rico, further cementing his status as a cultural phenomenon.

The Chase Pack: Barrera and Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso

Close on Bad Bunny’s heels are prolific Mexican songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera and the Argentinian hip-hop duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, both securing 10 nominations each. Barrera’s nominations are particularly noteworthy as they elevate his career total to 72, making him the most nominated individual in the history of the Latin Grammy Awards. Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso’s 10 nominations mark a historic achievement for Argentine artists, with nods for Album of the Year (“Papota”) and multiple nominations in Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Their growing international recognition, boosted by a viral NPR Tiny Desk Concert, highlights their significant contribution to the contemporary latin music landscape.

Expanding Horizons: New Categories and Diverse Nominees

This year’s nominations also introduce exciting new dimensions to the awards. The Latin Recording Academy has added two new categories: Best Music for Visual Media, recognizing original music created for films, TV shows, and video games, and Best Roots Song, celebrating compositions that preserve and reflect the traditions of Hispanic American communities. These additions reflect the evolving nature of music creation and its integration with visual arts and cultural heritage.

Beyond the top contenders, a constellation of stars earned multiple nominations, showcasing the depth and diversity of talent within Latin music. Natalia Lafourcade garnered eight nominations, while Alejandro Sanz received four nods. Other prominent artists recognized include Karol G, Maluma, Gloria Estefan, Rauw Alejandro, Carín León, Liniker, and Elena Rose, each contributing to the rich tapestry of stories represented in this year’s awards.
The highly anticipated Best New Artist category features a diverse group of emerging talents, including Alleh, Annasofia, Yerai Cortés, Juliane Gamboa, Camila Guevara, Isadora, Alex Luna, Paloma Morphy, Sued Nunes, and Ruzzi, poised to make their mark on the industry.

The Unstoppable Rise of Latin Music

The significant presence of Latin artists in the top nomination categories is a clear indicator of the genre’s burgeoning global dominance. Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, emphasized this point, stating, “The impact of Latin music continues to grow on a global level, and all of the nominated artists encompass its diversity and richness while continuing to preserve the iconic sounds that make our music unique.” Data from Luminate and RIAA reports confirm this trend, showing Latin music’s substantial revenue growth and increasing share of the U.S. music market, driven by massive streaming numbers and the widespread appeal of artists like Bad Bunny, whose album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” has been a significant catalyst.

Looking Ahead to the 26th Annual Latin Grammy Awards

The 26th Annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony is set to take place on November 13, 2025, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. With Bad Bunny leading a strong field of nominees, this year’s awards promise to be a celebration of the vibrant evolution, cultural significance, and undeniable global power of Latin music, offering compelling stories that will captivate audiences worldwide.
